Commodore 8296 D

The 8296 D is a computer system with a monitor, keyboard, internal power-supply, disk drives and a motherboard. On the motherboard you will find a MOS 6502 processor, RAM / ROM memory, MOS 6545 video-chip, MOS 6520 PIA and a MOS 6522 VIA.
The 8296 D is an example of the second generation of cbm/pet computers from Commodore. In stead of sheet-metal this series is made of plastic. There is much more attention for the look of the computer.
The 8 in the model number stands for 80 columns of text on the screen and the 96 stands for 96 kbyte RAM memory. The D stands for diskdrive(s).
